The USCIS has developed a brochure in helping the Haitian community avoid scams and false propaganda advertising for TPS. See the attached items or visit the USCIS Web page section on  Fraud Protection.

The Department of Homeland Security filed a Signed Rule that lengthened to TPS for Haitians for the total of 18 months, and we applaud them for such a ruling.

For the many questions of what to do and how to do, USCIS has developed some Q&A info sheet with  information regarding the Haitian Relief Measures implemented by their department as well as some basic information on TPS for Haitians.

Eligibility for TPS includes Criminal Bars in which you should be aware of. See this TPS Criminal Bar advisory!

 

USCIS is setting up a resource desk in the lobby of the JFK Building to answer TPS questions. In addition, the Red Cross and the Coast Guard will be there as well.


USCIS is preparing a script for local Haitian radio stations to explain TPS

 

Catholic Charities of Boston has free telephones to allow people to call Haiti. Check their website www.ccab.org for more information

 

USCIS help line number is 800-375-5283 and it is staffed currently until 11pm

 

City of Boston has a Haitian Resource Center at the Mattapan Public Library. Please check the City of Boston website for exact hours at www.cityofboston.gov/haiti.
