The information you disclose to the Census will not be used for any purposes other than those already assigned to the Census; to count the people in order to distribute funds for education, roads, health, public services, and several other services the state offers its people!
Every individual working for the Census and who will see the information you provide in the Census Form is sworn in to a lifetime oath under Title 13 of the U.S. Code. This means no individual or body has access to the more specific information you send the Census Bureau, such as your address, and full name!
Your information is KEPT SECURE AND PRIVATE!
And remember this:
By law, the Census Bureau cannot share your answers with anyone, including the Internal Revenue Service, Immigration
and Customs Enforcement, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Central Intelligence Agency or any other government agency. All Census Bureau employees take the oath of nondisclosure and are sworn for life to protect the confidentiality of the data. The penalty for unlawful disclosure is a fine of up to $250,000 or imprisonment of up to five years, or both.
