Workforce Development

The face of Massachusetts has changed dramatically over the last decade. According to a recent study by MassINC the foreign born population in Massachusetts increased from 9.4% in 1980 to its present 14.3%. The immigrant community makes up over 17% of the Commonwealth's workforce.

BU School of Social Work BRIDGE Program Informational Meeting

10/ 2/2009 - Immigrants interested in a career in social work can find out more about BU's BRIDGE Program at an upcoming informational meeting on Tuesday, October 13th, 5:30-7:30pm at the BU School of Social Work, 264 Bay State Rd. in Boston. The BRIDGE Program increases access for refugees and immigrants to graduate social work education and highly skilled positions in the health and human services sector. A primary goal is to increase the number of social workers serving culturally and linguistically diverse newcomer populations.
