Thursday, July 11: ABCs of Immigration
Our signature introductory training session provides an overview of common immigration statuses, the privileges and restrictions associated with each, and common pathways to obtain legal immigration status — including through family and humanitarian protections.

Thursday, July 25: Rights, Resources and Benefits for Immigrants
Participants will learn about basic rights of all individuals — regardless of immigration status — and receive a broad overview of immigrant eligibility for health and safety net programs. This training also discusses best practices for interactions with law enforcement and preparation for worst-case scenarios.

Thursday, August 8: Immigration Policy Updates and the Work Ahead
It can be challenging to stay current with the ever-changing landscape of immigration policy. In this session, we’ll discuss some of the changes that have occurred over the past year both at the federal and state levels, and what MIRA Coalition’s advocacy is focused on for the future.

Thursday, August 22: Welcoming New Arrivals
As part of the training, participants will receive tips for assisting families and individuals who are new to the country. In addition to providing a basic understanding of the state’s emergency shelters and welcome centers, the training will also discuss actions taken by the state, municipal networks, and local responses. Additionally, best practices will be presented for building strong, trusting relationships with immigrants.
