IDSH State House Event 2025

Together in Action: At Immigrants’ Day you will see a cultural performance, and hear personal stories from state and community leaders. Folks will have the opportunity to speak directly with legislators about policies that impact immigrant communities.

12 pm – 2pm: Advocacy Program:
Advocates will meet with legislators and/or legislative staff to advocate for:
- The Safe Communities Act
- The Immigrant Legal Defense Act
- Dignity Not Deportations
- Other key legislative priorities
Groups with scheduled meetings will receive a folder at the check-in table.
All participants are welcome to do Literature Drop off. MIRA staff and volunteers will be waiting for you!

Registration
- Register your group today CLICK HERE
- Individuals do not need to register again at the event entrance
- ID is not required
- Interpretation will be available in: Portuguese, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Dari
Advocacy meetings
- Groups with scheduled meetings will receive a folder at the check-in table
- All participants are welcome to do Literature Drop off Mira staff and volunteers will be waiting for you!
- QR codes to find your legislator will be displayed
Scheduled meetings

- Sign in your organization
- Meet other organizations that will attend the same meeting at the meeting room door (give folks time to find each other in the building)
FAQ
- this is an indoor event – The Great Hall, State House.
- entry through the Hooker Entrance and Bowdoin St. Entrance
- everyone must go through SECURITY – be prepared to wait in line (metal detector)
- NO FLAGS or posters are allowed in the building
- avoid taking pictures of participants’ faces – individuals who do not wish to be photographed will wear a red dot sticker
- there will be a shared resources table for organizations to display their handouts
- buses will be coming from Northampton and Lowell – more info: organizing@miracoalition.org
