Supreme Court Decision on Birthright Citizenship – 6/30/2025
The Supreme Court issued a decision last Friday holding that lower federal courts cannot block the birthright citizenship order from taking effect nationwide through the current court challenges.
The birthright citizenship executive order is not in effect. The Court held that it cannot take effect anywhere for 30 days.
Advocates have already filed additional court challenges, including class action lawsuits, to prevent the executive order from taking effect anywhere in the United States.
