Senior Manager of Economic Integration | English for New Bostonians
Thays Lobo serves as the Senior Manager of Economic Integration at English for New Bostonians (ENB), where she leads initiatives that empower immigrants and refugees to achieve economic stability and professional advancement in the Greater Boston area. In this role, Thays oversees the Immigrant Economic Resilience Initiative, guiding a team of career coaches who provide employment and career readiness services across multiple community-based programs. Through this work, she helps immigrants identify their professional paths, build essential workforce skills, and contribute to the economic vitality of their communities.
Thays also manages ENB’s RISE Program, which provides ESOL instruction and employment services to low-income immigrants and refugee families, preparing them to successfully enter and thrive in the U.S. labor market. In addition to her program leadership, she plays a key role on ENB’s leadership team and oversees the organization’s volunteer program, coordinating volunteers who support more than 20 ESOL programs and special initiatives across the organization.
A trilingual professional fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, Thays brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. Originally from Brazil, she immigrated to the United States seven years ago and began her own journey by taking her first English class at Maverick Landing Community Services, a program supported by ENB. Today, she finds great fulfillment in helping other immigrants achieve the opportunities and stability she once sought herself.
Prior to joining ENB, Thays worked as a Portuguese interpreter and founded and managed an artistic production company. She also served as a liaison between local entrepreneurs and businesses and the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Committee, helping coordinate community engagement initiatives around the international event.
Thays holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from City University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and extensive experience in program and project management in different organizations in Brazil and Angola.
