Joining MIRA recently as the Interim Director of Development, Irene Egan has over 20 years’ experience in non-profit resource development and communications. She has worked with agencies focused on social services, health care, food security, and citizenship services. Irene’s grandparents were all immigrants from Slovakia; she is inspired by the ongoing immigrant story of courage, perseverance, and generational impact, exemplified by her family and so many thousands of others. Irene holds a B.A. in journalism from Marquette University. Outside of work, she enjoys facilitating Amherst Writers & Artists creative writing workshops for low income women.
