At SMCEP, Elena serves as a small group leader and teacher’s assistant to provide support to Spanish-English ESL/Citizenship and beginner ESL classes. She is also developing a new ESL program called Pathways to Citizenship, collaborating with the Somerville and Quincy Public Libraries. Born and raised in Jamaica Plain, Elena is excited to meet new people while doing her part to support under-resourced communities. She also hopes to learn more about the nonprofit sector, and improve her teaching and other professional skills.
