Slandy Sanon

IAS Program Coordinator

Slandy Sanon joined MIRA in December 2024 as the IAS Program Coordinator for MIRA’s new Immigrant Assistance Services (IAS) program, which provides legal consultation and support to families living in designated Emergency Assistance shelters.

Slandy (she/her) is a Haitian immigrant who migrated to the U.S at the age of 12. Her experiences integrating into her new life made her realize that she wanted to work with immigrants and refugees.

Slandy earned her Bachelors degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston in Latin America and Iberian Studies. She also earned her Masters degree in Global Inclusion and Social Development. During her studies, she focused on Latin American culture, language, and history while focusing on inclusion and human rights.

Recently, Slandy worked as a Case Manager for unaccompanied children. She provided the children with direct services following their release from ORR shelters.

In her free time, she enjoys volunteering as an interpreter in various events and also loves to crochet new bags and hats.
