Sophia Diez-Zhang (she/her) is MIRA’s Digital Organizer. She graduated from Oberlin College in 2022 with a B.A. in Comparative American Studies, as well as a minors in Hispanic Studies and East Asian Studies. As a child of immigrants, Sophia grew up bridging different cultures. At Oberlin she conducted academic research to raise awareness for the lived experiences of migrants and deportees. She spent a semester in Tucson, Arizona studying US-Mexico border politics and meeting local immigration advocates. She was also involved in initiatives to support multiracial and undocumented students. Sophia now hopes to continue such work in Boston, helping to offer migrants the resources they need to empower themselves and their communities.
