What is this program?

This two-month cohort-based fellowship will provide organizers and communications staff with tools, resources and support to develop a story that both conveys personal narrative and pushes for policy change.

Storytelling is a form of accessible communication and organizing, as it thrives on the freedom to express yourself in your own words, while also connecting with lawmakers and reframing mainstream narratives about how immigrants should be treated.

The fellowship’s structure centers around 3 components:

The story of the Self

is your story, your voice.

The story of Us

connects you with your audience, as you connect through shared values and experiences.

The story of Now

calls your audience to action, mobilizing them to advocate for a common cause.

Our ultimate goals are to:

  • Offer hands-on guidance on strategic narrative and social media strategies
  • Support your organization in building capacity for your organizing and communications staff
  • Create and nurture collaborative relationships among MIRA Coalition members

Application Deadline: Aug 29, 2024

Who is it for?

  • Communications or organizing staff at MIRA Coalition organizations that have had limited opportunities or capacity to expand upon their digital and social media skills
