Policy Update – 5/30/2025 Supreme Court Decision on CHNV

Supreme Court Decision on CHNV – 5/30/2025

The Supreme Court issued a decision today allowing the Trump Administration’s termination of CHNV parole to take effect.

This decision will impact more than 500,000 people who entered on parole through the CHNV program (also known in the community as the “Biden program) after being sponsored by someone in the United States.

DHS has not yet provided information on how it will implement the Court’s decision. Court challenges to the termination of parole continue!

Individuals with CHNV parole who have not yet applied for TPS or asylum should consult with an attorney to understand their options.
