Your Voice Matters: Vote in Your Local Elections on November 4

Vote for a better future

On November 4, 55 cities and towns across the Commonwealth will hold municipal elections. That means you have a chance to select the people who will make important decisions about your community—your mayor, city councilors, and local leaders.

Every four years, our country pours its energy into the presidential race. But let’s be honest, the decisions that hit closest to home aren’t made in Washington. They’re made right here, in our cities and towns. When the federal government falls short—whether it’s protecting immigrants, investing in housing, or keeping our streets safe—it’s local leaders who step up to fill the gaps.

That’s why your vote in a local election carries so much influence. It determines if your child’s school receives the funding it needs, if your streets get repaired, and if your neighborhood has parks, libraries, and programs that families depend on. It also decides how your tax dollars are allocated, and at the local level, you can actually see where that money goes.

So don’t sit this one out. Make a plan to vote. Find out who’s running for office, where your polling place is, and bring a friend with you. Democracy works best when all of us have a seat at the table and a voice in the decisions that shape our lives.

Because when we show up, vote, and raise our voices together, that’s how we build stronger, fairer communities across Massachusetts.
